How will the new January transfer window signings make an impact

This transfer window has been a special one with lots of exciting signings made. They were players who left unexpectedly and players who needed a move. They were players that made such a great impression at the World Cup that teams had to put them on their radar. This was one of the best January transfer windows as records were broken with teams looking to bolster their squad ahead of the second half of the season. Futbol Mundial brings you the best transfers ahead  the upcoming.

Can Cancelo improve at Bayern

One of the most needed transfers of the transfer window had to have been Joao Cancelo’s move to Bayern. Joao Cancelo was experiencing a lack of playing time while playing for the Premier League champions Manchester City and wanted to change that. Cancelo endured a frustrating World Cup campaign as he failed to register a goal or an assist and did not start a knockout game. The 2020-21 season was his breakthrough year and he guided City to a Champions League final and another premier league title. Last season he scored three goals and made seven assists the whole of last season which was his best season at Manchester City helping them win another title. He was involved in a bust up with Pep Guardiola and it further backs up why he had to leave.

Will Mudryk be another Chelsea flop or will he be worth every penny

Mykhailo Mudryk was originally set for a transfer to Arsenal but it was hijacked by Chelsea. He is the third most expensive player in Chelsea’s history and the fifth most expensive player in premier league history as he was bought for £88 million. Mudryk so far this season scored ten goals and seven assists in across all  competitions. His high transfer fee also beat that of Fred when he arrived from Shakhtar to Manchester United for £62 million. Chelsea is currently struggling in 9th place and will hope that Mudryk can make his mark at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea has been known in the past for signing expensive players and having them flop like Morata, Lukaku and Crespo just to name a few. This list of disappointing transfers includes countryman Shevchenko and Mudryk will hope not to follow in his footsteps.

Enzo is just the answer Chelsea needed

Chelsea needs a squad bolstering and they need one quick. Chelsea are in ninth place and have a game against Dortmund on the horizon. There is no better way to bolster your midfield than adding Enzo Fernandez who just came off an impressive World Cup with Argentina. Enzo Fernandez scooped the Young Player of the World Cup award and what better way to grow his career than joining Chelsea. Chelsea are nine points off the top four and it is looking like they will have a mountain to climb if they are to make Champions League football. Fernandez is known for being tenacious in making attempts to win the ball back, he knows how to press opponents in an aggressive way and has a lot of energy and agility. He also knows how to move quickly when getting the ball to the other direction.
