The major clubs hoping to bolster squads

The summer transfer window is always an exciting time, as many clubs have an opportunity to bolster their squads going into next season. This transfer window, in particular, will be interesting, as there have been many exciting prospects who have been rumored to join big clubs. Some of these players include Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Martin Zubimendi to Arsenal, and Mateus Cunha to Manchester United.
The signing of Huijsen promises to boost Madrid
It is no secret that Real Madrid’s priority this summer was to sign a center back. Dean Huijsen has been one of their main targets, and they have finally secured the services of the Bournemouth center back. Real Madrid’s backline has struggled with organization, positioning, and keeping a compact shape. If Alonso is to play three at the back, which is what he is considering, then he will need to sign another center back. Los Blancos have also struggled with injuries in defense, which has not helped their case, with Militao and Carvajal being out injured for the season. With Huijsen’s arrival, Real Madrid has an opportunity to be more solid defensively and also have a center back who can intercept passes. Despite his young age, his ability to adapt to different tactics and his athleticism will definitely add a lot of value to Real Madrid.
Zubimendi to take Arsenal to another level
Although Arsenal are already solid in midfield, Zubimendi’s signing will take them to a whole different dimension. Zubimendi is known for being a technical midfielder, meaning his ball control, passing, and all-around individual skill are exceptional. His signing for Arsenal may just be what Arsenal need to finally get over the line and win a major trophy. Zubimendi’s signing will also increase overall depth the Gunners have in midfield.
Can Cunha answer United’s problems
Mateus Cunha is already a Premier League-proven player. As much as signing a player who is a world-class number 9 is important, it is key to bring someone in who has proven his worth in England. Take Radamel Falcao, for example; as great of a striker as he was, he struggled to find goals at United. Signing a player who is able to keep up with the pressure, competitiveness, and intensity of the Premier League is what Man United need—not just any world-class striker. Cunha is strong at pressing in the final third, which forces defenders into making mistakes so he can have a clear chance at goal. He is also a clinical finisher, something United have lacked in recent times.
