Lionel Messi nets twice against New England Revolution, with the Argentine maestro guiding Inter Miami to a fourth consecutive win. The Argentine magician now has Inter Miami back in the groove, with the Herons returning to their dominant form. After Lionel Messi leading Inter Miami to the knockout stage of the Club World Cup, the veteran skipper seems to be enjoying a stellar run of form. This was also La Pulga’s 14th goal of the MLS, with his eyes set on claiming the top scorer award after missing out the last two seasons.
The Herons hoping to climb up the table
Inter Miami are currently in fifth place, with three games in hand to play. If the Herons are to reclaim the Supporters’ Shield trophy and even go on to lift the MLS Cup, their hopes rest on the shoulders of Lionel Messi. However, for Inter Miami to have the season they are hoping for, they will need La Pulga to be at his fittest. The Argentine was rested on several occasions last season while also missing time due to injury.
