Italy’s best set to battle it out for the scudetto
Italy’s top flight opens its curtains for yet another season. There is a lot of excitement building up around this new season, largely due to the competitive nature of the league, but also newly revamped squads have caught the eyes of many spectators. Last time around, Napoli narrowly beat Inter to the scudetto due to a slip-up during the final rounds. This time around, the favorites for the famous scudetto title are expected to be Juventus, Napoli, and none other than the great Inter.
Can Italy’s favorite team the Bianconeri hoping to reclaim the scudetto

It has been five years since the Bianconeri last got their hands on the scudetto. Igor Tudor goes into his second season in charge of the Old Lady, and although they won’t be favorites, they will certainly fancy their chances. Last season, Juventus struggled to win battles in the middle of the park, which is something they must address immediately should they be title contenders. However, one thing that could certainly play to their advantage is the revolution of Yildiz, who had a promising Club World Cup. The Turkish maestro’s playmaking skills and ability to detect loose spaces is one of the many reasons why he is one of the most excellent prospects in football today. Tudor will also be hoping to have Kolo Muani back, who put in some impressive performances in the latter stages of the season.
Could the Gli Azzuri go back to back

The success that Napoli have enjoyed domestically in the last three years was perhaps their wildest dream: from going 33 years without a scudetto to winning two in three seasons. Unlike their fellow title contenders, Napoli boasts the ability to control the midfield while dictating the tempo of games. Their strengths also lie in their ability to create opportunities for their forwards, a contributing factor to their lethal attack. Unfortunately for the Gli Azzurri, Lukaku is set to be on the sidelines for three months, a major blow to their attacking front. Fortunately for them, they signed Lorenzo Lucca, who was in the top ten scorers in Italy’s top flight. Napoli is also further boosted by legendary Belgian playmaker De Bruyne, whose arrival promises to make them stronger.
Can Inter steal back the title from Napoli

Inter were on the cusp of securing the treble; however, unfortunately for them, they completely let themselves go in the latter stages of the season. Defeats to Milan in the cup, Roma in the league, and a 5-0 demolition to PSG saw their hopes of lifting the treble fade. Like Juventus, the Nerazzurri also struggle with creativity in the middle of the park, which was demonstrated against AS Roma. Martinez will also be hoping to be back in top form after only netting 12 times last season. Inter will be hoping that Sucic can add a different dimension to the midfield and make them more dominant. Sucic’s ability to create space and lose his marker could help Inter improve in the middle of the park.
