PSG going for the sextuple

PSG will be eyeing a sixth trophy of the year to cap off an already unforgettable 2025. Les Parisiens will be taking on Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo in the Intercontinental Cup final tomorrow. The French giants will be heavy favorites heading into this clash; however, Flamengo will not be underestimated, given that Botafogo managed to claim a victory against PSG against the odds in this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup. Flamengo, on the other hand, will be looking to win their second trophy in less than three weeks.
PSG affected by an injury hit squad

Unfortunately for Les Parisiens, Hakimi, Marquinhos, and Senny Mayulu are all expected to sit out this clash, with the trio still nursing injuries. Filipe Luis, on the other hand, will have a fully fit squad, but whether that gives them a slight advantage on the pitch remains to be seen.
Les Parisiens boosted by duo return

PSG will be boosted by the return of Doue and Dembélé, who have missed a considerable amount of action so far this season due to recurring injuries. Ousmane Dembélé, who picked up the 2025 Best Player award, will be eager to get back among the goals, with the PSG star’s last goal coming in September. PSG’s attack is tipped to get the better of a Flamengo side that struggles to balance defense with attack, especially when pressing high. PSG’s quick passing sequences on the edge of the box have proved to be a recipe for disaster for any defense. The French giants currently cannot stop scoring goals.
Flamengo may not be favorites but have enough in their locker to pull a shock

Flamengo may be susceptible to counterattacks; however, that does not take away from the firepower they have going forward. Pedro and Bruno Henrique will look to take advantage of PSG’s vulnerable backline, with the Brazilian duo capable of punishing any defense. If Flamengo is to come out on top tomorrow, winning the midfield battle will be key. Their experienced midfield three of Carrascal, de Arrascaeta, and Jorginho must look to disrupt PSG’s midfield rhythm and prevent them from outplaying them in the middle of the park. The South American giants will be brimming with confidence after coming off the back of their Copa Libertadores victory. Furthermore, Filipe Luis’ men have suffered just one defeat since November and were also able to secure the Brazilian Serie A.
