La Liga returns for more exciting action this weekend – Stay tuned

Osasuna vs Valencia as it happened

La Liga Santander is set to resume this weekend after midweek Champions League games. The first game already took place as Valencia managed to overcome Osasuna by two goals to one as Los Che managed to bounce back after dropping points last weekend against Osasuna. Valencia have not done bad at all this season considering they lost two very valuable player in Maxi Gomez and Carlos Soler.  They are only six points from the top of La Liga  and if they keep up with their form they could end up upsetting many teams. Los Che have played eight games in total winning four games, drawing 1 and losing three. It is not the best for a team like Valencia considering their history. However it is better than what they achieved last year in their first eight games where they won three lost two and drew three.

Los Blancos take on Getafe and hope to return to winning ways

Los Blancos take on Getafe after their winning record was ended as they were held to a 1-1 draw when they played Osasuna. They did go back to winning ways when they faced Shakhtar with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo getting amongst the goals. Despite that one draw they are still unbeaten this season. They will hope to bounce back in their Madrid Derby as they surrendered first position to Barcelona. Real Madrid has a 6-1 record against Getafe in their last seven games against Getafe. However despite beating Azulones in six of their last seven games the last time Real visited the Coliseum they lost 1-0 to Getafe. Enes Unal scored in the 9th minute to pick up the three points against Los Blancos. Unfortunately Karim Benzema has been left out of the squad again opening the door for Rodrygo to play down the middle again.

Battle between two evenly contested teams

Arguably the biggest fixture in Round 8 of Spanish La Liga is Real Sociedad vs Villarreal. These two teams are separated by one point and both teams will be looking to get the better of each other and boost their season. In the last eight games between La Real and the Yellow Submarine it has been tight which makes this game even more difficult to call. Villarreal got the better of La Real and La Real got the better of Villarreal twice and they drew two games. Real Sociedad come into this game having gotten the better of Girona 5-3 last weekend. Whereas Villarreal drew blank with 19th place Cádiz. Real Sociedad also comes into this match having beat Sheriff 2-0 in the Europa League. This match is a hard one to call but I believe both teams will have to settle for a draw.

Blaugrana hoping to remain in first place

Barcelona take on Celta Vigo this weekend on Sunday. The Blaugrana will be hoping to maintain their position in first place when they take on the Galicians. The Catalans are currently flying high at the moment overcoming their poor form from last season and by this time last year they won three, drew three and lost one and they were in sixth place this time last season. Things are very different this season as they have won six games so far and only drawn one. Robert Lewandowski has notched an incredible nine goals in seven games so far this season. To add on to their amazing achievements in La Liga they won they scored 19 goals and only conceded one. Two seasons ago Celta Vigo managed to take three points away from them at the Camp Nou.
