Stay tuned for some of the best action in France

Futbol Mundial brings you the best action that has already happened in Ligue 1 as well as the games to come. The big teams in France like PSG, Lyon, Monaco and Lille all return this weekend. Find out if the big teams picked up three points or if they faltered.

PSG survive a major scare against Reims

Paris Saint Germain were to be without Lionel Messi this weekend after reports that he felt fatigued in the 1-1 draw with Benfica. Neymar started on the bench so PSG would be without their front three. Sergio Ramos had gotten sent off after 40 minutes which was his 28th red card of his career. This draw was PSG’s first 0-0 draw since December 2021 and it was a game Reims should have won. Reims registered 24 attempts compared to PSG’s 11 attempts. It was not the best result for French minnows but it is definitely a result they needed after losing 4 games this season. They also have 7 corners compared to PSG’s 3 corners. Despite the draw PSG still maintained their position as league leaders. Les Parisiens will be looking to get back to winning ways against Benfica this week.

Lyon frustrated however Toulouse satisfied with the result

Olympique Lyonnais drew 1-1 with Toulouse. Before the game only two points separated the Lyon who were in seventh place from Toulouse in 11th.  Both teams went into this match eager to become victorious. If Olympique Lyonnais won the match then they would go five points ahead of Toulouse and possibly even go higher up the table. If Toulouse won they would go ahead of Lyon and get themselves in the top half of the table. However neither team got the better of each other as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Tête had opened the scoring for Olympique Lyonnais in the first half. Then seven minutes after the hour mark Ratao equalized in what would be a 1-1 night. It was not the best of games for Lyon but Toulouse will definitely take the result considering they are newly promoted.

Ben Yedder to face off against Khazri

Lastly one of the biggest fixtures of the weekend will be when Monaco travels to Montpellier on Sunday. Only five points separate the two teams in what is an extremely competitive season already. If Monaco win it would not affect them as they are four points off Lens however a defeat could drop them down to 6th or 7th. If Montpellier win they would also need to hope that Lyon, Lille and Clermont drop points. Montpellier have proved this season they have goals in them. Montpellier notched up an incredible 21 goals in nine games. The highlight so far of the season was their 7-0 victory over Brest which really showed their attacking quality. Montpellier also need to defend to the best of their ability as they know Monaco have attackers that can cause their defense problems.
