Denmark and China faced off against one another at the Perth Rectangular Stadium for the second game of Group D. Denmark managed to win in the last minute against China thanks to a goal by Vangsgaard. Vangsgaard got a goal in the 90th minute to give Denmark a win in their World Cup opener against China. Despite Denmark dominating the game they found it difficult to break through a difficult Chinese defense. The Danish will be happy to have started the World Cup on a high note. China will have no choice but to pick up a minimum of four points if they are to qualify to the next round. That is more of a daunting task than it may seem as they have to face England and a defensive Haiti team. They will not only need to be defensively strong but also take their chances when they come.
