World Cup Group C: Japan get easy win

Japan put in a 5 star performance

Japan took on debutants Zambia at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton. The 2011 Champions proved to be too good for Zambia as they beat them 5-0 to start their World Cup campaign. Miyazawa was at the double for the Japanese in their opening game against Zambia. On the other hand, Zambia had a match to forget as they were dismantled on their World Cup debut. Futbol Mundial brings you the best moments of Japan 5-0 victory over Zambia.

Zambia embarrassed on their World Cup debut

Zambia’s World Cup debut was one to forget after they did not have an answer to Japan’s masterclass. The Zambians put in an extremely disappointing performance as they did not even manage to register a single shot on goal in their debut. The Africans put in a strong performance in the first half but Japan kept scoring after their opener. Zambia still have to face off against Spain and Costa Rica in the World Cup group stage. It is looking pretty much over for the Zambians as they face the daunting task of beating Spain. The Zambians will want to get inspiration from their win against Germany so that they can cause an upset against Spain

Miyazawa shows why Japan are World Cup contenders

Japan put in a five class performance against Zambia to get their campaign off to a flier. Hinato Miyazawa was at the double whilst Tanaka, Endo and Ueki were also on target. The 2011 World Cup champions recorded their highest ever win in a World Cup. Despite being silenced for most of the first half they put in a 5 star performance in the second half. They could have even gotten two more if Tanaka’s goals had not been ruled out by VAR. Japan are without a doubt playing like a team on a mission. If they beat Costa Rica which they are favorites to do so they will secure a place in the next round.
