Brazil make an introduction
Brazil introduced themselves to the World Cup in style. They took on Panama at the Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide. Selecao managed to get a resounding victory over Panama as they put up a show against Panama. Borges has a debut to remember
Ary Borges introduced her self in perfect fashion as she managed to score a hattrick for Brazil on her debut. Borges gave Brazil the lead as she headed home a cross from de Oliveira as she opened the scoring. She then added a 2nd20 minutes later and then completed the scoring by scoring a header in the 70th minute. Joining the party was Joao who hit the ball in the roof of the net. Brazil may not be favorites to go all the way but they sure did send a warning to their other fierce rivals. Selecao have never won the World Cup and they will definitely fancy their chances in lifting the famous cup. The furthest Brazil have ever gone is the final which lost to Germany 2-0. It was also special as Marta made her sixth World Cup appearance.
Panama have a debut to forget
Panama had a World Cup debut to forget as they were completely outshined by Brazil. They were also dominated by Brazil in many areas of the game. Las Canaleras only had six efforts compared to Brazil’s 32. Panama let Brazil cut through them too easily and will have to improve on their defensive skills to progress to the next round. Panama still have to face France and Jamaica and they will be underdogs considering it’s their debut. Unless they can improve drastically Panama looks to be on their way out.
