Premier League winners and losers

Premier League preview

Premier League is a competition that all 20 teams want to either win or stay in. The summer transfer window is always a busy time for all the clubs. Teams always aim to add to their squad in the best way possible so they can reach their desired position. We take a look at some of the teams in the premier league that look the best and as well as the worst.

The defending champions look to have another dominant season

The First team that looks in great shape ahead of the premier league season is Manchester City. City will be coming into this new season with plenty of confidence after their treble winning season. The Cityzens added Gvardiol and Kovacic two key signings that will boost their squad. Gvardiol broke out on the world stage after his world cup performances being one of the best defenders at the tournament. Kovacic on the other hand is good in his through passing, dribbling, concentration and key passes. Not to mention he is no stranger to winning the Champions League as he has done so four times with two clubs. The Premier League champions are also hoping to add Paqueta to their squad. The Cityzens go into this campaign being heavily favored to win their fourth consecutive title.

Arsenal to go for the premier league again

Arsenal has done some of the best business ahead of this premier league season. They added Havertz, Timber and their main transfer target Declan Rice. Arsenal did fall short of winning the premier league last campaign as they lost their lead to Manchester City. The North Londoners will return with a rejuvenated young squad. They face Nottingham Forest in their opener and will hope to get revenge as Forest was the reason they lost the league. Arsenal will definitely want to go for the title all over again.

Villa looking promising ahead of the new season

Another team in good shape ahead of the upcoming season is Aston Villa. Aston Villa secured a European position last season for the first time in over 10 years. Out of all the teams in the premier league Villa has had one of the best transfer windows. They added legendary sporting director  Monchi to their ranks as well as Diaby, Torres and Tielemans. With their team rejuvenated they look like they could be cooking up something serious this season in the premier league. They take on Newcastle in their premier league opener which will be a real test of where the squad is.

Will it be another miserable season for the Blues?

One of the teams that does not look in the best shape is Chelsea. Despite adding Jackson, Nkunku, Disasi and Ugochukwu one would still feel Chelsea still lack quality in attack. Chelsea suffered horrible news as Nkunku will be on the sidelines for four months after picking up a knee injury in preseason. Despite Jackson having a lot of potential it is still unsure whether he could cope with the pressure and the intensity of the premier league. He had a promising season but has yet to show that he is a lethal goalscorer. Chelsea also go into the season having just come in 12thplace last season in the premier league. The last time Chelsea performed this bad was 1994 where they came in 14th. Chelsea will be tested against a fully rejuvenated team like Liverpool and many would say they go in this game as underdogs.

Spurs lack quality in attack

Despite getting a new manager Tottenham do not look in good shape compared to their top six rivals. Their biggest loss in the summer is without a doubt Harry Kane who left to join Bayern Munich. Despite adding Maddison, Veliz, Van de ven Spurs lack a consistent goalscorer. Finding an attacker who is able to score close to or at the level of Harry Kane will be challenging. Despite Veliz showing a lot of promise at the U-20 World Cup it remains to be seen if he can shine at the highest level in the premier league. Spurs will be hoping that after a disappointing season that Son can replicate his form of 2019 and lead Spurs.

Luton hoping to pull off a miracle and stay in the premier league

This should not come as a surprise to premier league followers but Luton Town. Luton have never played in the premier league and made history by qualifying for the England top flight last season. Many pundits have said that Luton would not remain the premier league. It would not be absurd to expect Luton to go down as they have no premier league experience. Their best signing of the transfer window would be Ross Barkley however he is not the player that once lit up the biggest league. Luton face Brighton away from home in what would be a stern test. So could luton town possibly shock everyone and stay in the premier league.
