Manchester City took on Sevilla for their first UEFA Super Cup in their history. City managed to defeat Sevilla 5-4 on penalty kicks. Nemanja Gudelj’s penalty miss which struck the post secured the win for City. Manchester City had learnt that De Bruyne would be out for up to four months however they still had more quality than Sevilla. Sevilla hoping to put their poor start to an end

It has been an awful start of the season for Sevilla. Los Nervionsenses lost their league opener against Valencia after a Javi Guerra winner. Sevilla regained hope after Youssef En Nesyri’s equalizer. Youssef En-Nesyri would then go on to give Sevilla the lead against Manchester City in the Uefa Super Cup. They then gave up their lead as they conceded an equalizer in the 63rd minute after leading for most of the game. Manchester City extended Sevilla’s drought in the Uefa Super Cup. The Andalusian giants have not won since 2006 when they beat Barcelona 3-0. Sevilla will be hoping to bounce back in their next game against Deportivo Alaves.

City win their fourth trophy of the season

Manchester City secured their fourth trophy of the season. Unlike Sevilla City have had a great start to the season winning their premier league opener. Manchester City managed to come back from behind through a Cole Palmer header. They then went on to secure the Uefa Super Cup as Nemanja Gudelj’s penalty kick struck the post. City were unable to secure the Community Shield meaning they cant win the sextuple. However they could secure their fifth trophy of the season in FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP in December.
