This is also the last year in which the Champions League will feature 32 teams in total. It will also be the last time those 32 teams are divided into eight groups with four teams in each.
Now it will be 36 teams in total. Before the top 2 teams from the eight groups would go to the round of 16. However now it will be top 8 teams who will automatically qualify and teams from position 9-24 will participate in a playoff.

The treble winners are certainly a team to fear for any team who draws them.
Real Madrid along with Manchester City picked up all 18 points from their six games in the Champions League. Although a good amount of their games were won by narrowly they still managed to pull away from their opponents. Bellingham has without a doubt been the main figure for them this season in the Champions League. The Englishman netted 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 appearances this season in Europe. Los Blancos will want to improve on playing better as some games they managed to win without playing their best.
Another team that will be challenging for the thrown of the kings of Europe will without a doubt three time finalists be Atletico de Madrid. Los Rojiblancos have been devastating this season in the group reaching top of their group. Atletico have not picked up this many points in the group stage since 2016 where they beat Bayern to top position. The last time they also went unbeaten was in 2013. The last few seasons Atletico has had a poor run in the group stage including where they came last position the previous season. Over the years we have seen Atletico play a more defensive role in the Champions League however this year has been different. This season however their attack has been on fire and they are the second highest scoring team in Europe only behind Manchester City. They managed to outscore more attacking teams like Barcelona, PSG, Bayern, Arsenal and even their bitter rivals Real Madrid.
