Heading: MLS Season just around the corner

By Uwe Munyantwali. MLS season is just around the corner. The season will commence on February 21st and there are lots of action packed games to look forward to. It is also interesting to see what the star players of North America’s elite will bring this campaign. Each year 20 teams go all out for the prestigious prize which is the MLS Cup. Each season a different club is favored to go all the way and take the cup. This year the likes of Inter Miami, FC Cincinnati and others will fancy their chances. Stay tuned as Futbol Mundial brings you the teams with the best chances of lifting the MLS Cup.

The first should not come as a shock to many due to its growing talent in their squad. Inter Miami went all the way in the Leagues Cup thanks to Messi scoring in every single round. The Argentinian’s arrival saw Beckham’s side win their first piece of silverware since coming into existence. With the new addition of Luis Suarez Inter Miami look deadlier than ever. El Pistolero is known for his goalscoring prowess and could add to the goals for the South Floridian. Not to mention that Messi will also have a full season and has enjoyed a long break which will be a boost to Inter Miami. They also boast the likes of Busquets and Alba.

FC Cincinnati were minutes away from a Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup final only to be knocked out on penalties by Inter Miami. FC Cincinatti will be going for their first MLS Cup title. The team from Ohio was eliminated by Columbus Crew in a game where both teams battled it out till the end. Meaning they fell short in both the U.S Open Cup last season and the MLS Cup. Cincinnati will hope that Luciano Acosta and Brandon Vazquez can be in peak form to guide their side to victory. Acosta came 2nd in the golden boot race only losing out to Bouanga by three goals.

The 2022 Champions and the 2023 runners-up will be going for the cup all over again. After missing out last year to Columbus Crew they will be determined to right their wrongs. Los Angeles FC boast Denis Bouanga up their disposal and will hope he has another good season after picking up the golden boot in 2023. Los Angeles FC will also be hoping to add fire to their attack by bringing in Gerard Moreno from Villarreal. Los Angeles FC will also fancy their chances in the CONCACAF Champions League.
