Real Madrid face a mountain to climb against Arsenal

Real Madrid face the daunting task of trying to overturn a 3-0 goal deficit in the 2nd leg of the Champions League quarter finals. Los Blancos come into this clash not in their best form and they would need a miracle to overturn the deficit. Arsenal on the other hand will be in a firm position to reach their first semi final since 2009. Arsenal carry a convincing lead to the Bernabeu thanks to two stunning free kick goals from Rice and a goal from Merino.
Los Blancos to look to their individual brilliance to get through

Real Madrid have been far from their best this season dealing with structural problems in terms of their shape. Kroos’s departure proved to be a massive blow for the club as he provided balance in the midfield, controlled the tempo of games and knew how to pick a pass. Many could also blame their problems to having both Mbappe and Vinicius in the same team as they are both left wingers. Real Madrid have constantly had their midfield get ran through and been taken out of shape which allows oppenents to exploit spaces. If Real Madrid is to make a comeback they will have to control the tempo of the game and provide good service to the attack. Real Madrid has quality players but their individual brilliance may not be enough to get them out of the mud this time.
Arsenal confident of keeping out Real on the night

Arsenal have proven to be a solid all round team and their quality was shown against the kings of Europe. Their midfield knows how to control the tempo of the game and maintain ball possession which can be frustrating for most teams. Arsenal were able to exploit the loose spaces left by Real Madrid which saw them have lots of space to attack. For Arsenal the job is simple and that is to do what they have done all season which is to stay well organized in defense maintaining a compact shape. However the Gunners must be aware that they are facing the kings of Europe who have been known to make comebacks against the very best in Europe.
