Por Uwe Munyantwali.- Concacaf Champions League action commences this week with two mouthwatering clashes. Vancouver take on tournament favorites Inter Miami and Tigres UANL take on Cruz Azul. A place in the final is at stake and all four teams are set ti battle it out in the attempt to go all the way in the competition. The first fixture is the all Mexican tie between Tigres and Cruz Azul which takes place on Wednesday 10pm. The second fixture is Vancouver WhiteCaps against MLS giants Inter Miami.
Tigres and Cruz Azul set to resume rivalries when they face off against each other on Wednesday. Cruz Azul will want to get the better of Tigres this time around after losing out to them earlier in the season. The two teams seem inseparable with both being tied on points in Clasura and only being seperated by goal difference. It has been five years since Tigres last lifted North America’s most prestigious trophy and they are favorites to get to the final.
Vancouver Whitecaps have had a stellar beginning to the season they currently sit on top of the western conference table. They have netted the second most goals in the western conference and conceded the least. Vancouver Whitecaps have multiple scoring threats and are also solid at the back. Back in November Cubas managed to shut out Lionel Messi when facing each other in South America. However with Messi it is hard to keep him out for him for too long. Some of the worlds best defenders have failed to keep out the Argentine sensation and this situation fails to seem any different.
