Mbappe has his eyes set on the Pichichi

Mbappe hoping to take advantage of Lewandowski’s injury as he aims to close the gap on the Pichichi award. It was at first thought Lewandowski would increase the gap with Mbappe suspended. However the polish striker suffered an injury which saw him get ruled out for three weeks. Only a single goal seperates the two goal machines and with Mbappe’s confidence he is more than capable of snatching the lead.
Mbappe hoping to cap off a strong individual season

The striker from Bondy’s hopes of finishing top scorer of La Liga will make it a successful debut season from an individual standpoint. Real Madrid will need Mbappe to be firing across all cylinders for the remainder of the season to stand a chance of retaining La Liga. Mbappe had gone five games without a goal and will be eager to continue scoring after netting a brace against celta. Mbappe has become a much more serious goal threat with the Frenchman looking sharper with his movements in the box and finishing.
Lewandowski currently in the driving seat

Lewandowski and Barcelona were handed a major blow with the news of his injury. The striker has been back to his best scoring form after a frustrating season last campaign. He is now on the verge of defying the odds at 36 and beating Mbappe to the Pichichi race. This could be attributed to Barcelona’s emphasis on attacking play and their improved supply service. Unfortunately his hopes of doing so took a major blow when he was ruled out for three weeks. With Mbappe in deadly scoring form this season he definitely threatens to close that gap. With four more games to go anything can happen but one thing is for sure and that is the race will be close.
