With Group F tomorrow which teams that can progress

With Dortmund being backed to go through who else will join them

With the Club World Cup having kicked off already we look at the teams from Group F. We will also be assessing their chances of progressing, giving insights into what each team looks like coming into this tournament, potential clubs to pull an upset and which clubs could go all the way. Group F consists of Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense, Ulsan and Mamelodi Sundowns. Perhaps not as exciting as other groups you can still expect to see some exciting games in this group and maybe even some potential upsets. Players we can expect to light up this group are Guirassy, Adeyemi, Ronwen Williams, Thiago Silva and Ganso. The biggest match up of this group will be Borussia Dortmund vs Fluminense as the 2024 Champions League runner ups face the 2023 Copa Libertadores champions.

With Mamelodi being a force in Africa can they cause a few upsets

Mamelodi Sundowns have proven to be a real force on the African tournament. The eight consecutive DSTV premiership winners will not be fazed by facing teams that are stronger than them. The Superdiski Giants winning the league eight consecutive times further highlights their strengths topping the two biggest South African teams in Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. Not to mention they have one of the best shotstoppers on the African continent in Ronwen Williams. The South African shotstopper had one of the best years of his life after guiding South Africa to the AFCON semi finals and being nominated for CAF best player. The Superdiski giants have had a strong couple of years in the CAF Champions League qualifying for the semi finals and the finals in the last two seasons.

A progression for Ulsan HD not a likely outcome

Ulsan HD may not be strong suitors to be darkhorses or to qualify past their group but they are here for the experience. With Ulsan HD lacking familiarity on the global stage they will hope to leave this tournament with their names ringing in a few peoples minds. The K1 League champions currently sit in third in their league which may not be where they want to be but they will now have their eyes set on the Club World Cup. Their latest and most notable achievement was reaching the semi final of the AFC Champions League proving that they can compete with Asia’s best. It will be interesting to see how they handle coming up against big names like Dortmund and Fluminense. It could go two way for them either they rise to the occasion or they drown by the prospect of facing two respective names in world football.

Can Fluminense narrowly secure a place in the next round

Fluminense will be confident of securing a place in the knockout stage (Round of 16) of the Club World Cup. However anything beyond that for them would be considered a memorable run from the Brazilian side in the tournament. Boosted from their 2023 Copa Libertadores victory Tricolor arrive in this tournament with high hopes of producing strong tournaments. Their strengths lie in their ability to be unpredictable with their positioning and maintain their shape. One of their liabilities however that could contribute to their downfall could be their weaknesses in the defensive department. In previous occasions they have proved to be susceptible to counter attacks with their backline leaving space in crucial areas that should be covered.

Expect Dortmund to have a good run in this CWC

After a disappointing start to the Bundesliga season Borussia Dortmund managed to secure Champions League football by the skin of their teeth. A Club World Cup victory may be a bit too far of a stretch for Dortmund but they certainly have what it takes to have a good run in this tournament. Borussia Dortmund maybe favored to top their group their group but they will want to approach each team with a certain level of seriousness. BVB will want to take inspiration from their miraculous 2024 Champions League run. With BVB possessing a strong pressing game, quick transitions and displaying strong attacking skils no team would look forward to facing them. Ultimately whether or not they win the tournament will come down to individual brilliance and despite them possessing many weapons in their arsenal they may lack the quality other teams have
