Marcus Rasford hoping to lead Barcelona to the Champions League

Marcus Rashford completes his loan move to Barcelona after being an outcast of Ruben Amorim’s project. The English international becomes the first player from England to play for Barcelona since Lineker. Rashford had a short stint at Aston Villa that turned out to be a success, hinting that United may not be the club for him. This also brings an end to a spell at his boyhood club, where he joined the first team in 2015. Many may argue that Rashford joined the club at the wrong time, while the team was in the middle of a transition period.
The Englishman first to be a culer since Lineker
Rashford’s arrival is the third signing for Barcelona this summer, with Joan Garcia and Roony Bardghji joining earlier this summer. The arrival of the English star presents plenty of attacking options for the Culers but also gives Flick a selection headache. Rashford will hope to make United regret selling him by showcasing his talent at the Catalan capital. He comes with his attacking versatility, pace, and goal threat on the left side, providing competition for Raphinha.
An extra attacking option for added depth
Despite Rashford displaying a lot of promise at United, he failed to live up to his full potential. He struggled to consistently perform at a high level for the Red Devils, having on-and-off seasons with the club. Factors such as high pressure, injuries, lack of commitment, and being frozen out by Amorim proved to be reasons for his downfall at the club. His arrival at Barcelona may be what the Spanish giants need to finally get over the line in the Champions League and retain their league title.
