Paris quality shines at the end of the day despite falling behind during the match
Paris Saint-Germain edged Tottenham Hotspur by the skin of their teeth after snatching a last-minute goal to take the tie to penalties. Spurs had a strong advantage going into the last five minutes of normal time, only for Kang In’s long-range strike to pull one back for PSG. Then, with two minutes to spare, Gonçalo Ramos headed home the equalizer to send the game to penalties. Despite Spurs ultimately taking the lead against PSG on penalties, misses from Van de Ven and Tel gave Les Parisiens the lead.
PSG hoping to begin Ligue 1 with a bang

Paris Saint-Germain will start their new campaign on a bright note after registering their first trophy of the season in their first game. Les Parisiens will be relishing the challenge against Nantes in their opening game, with hopes of getting off to a great start. PSG will have their sights on yet another Ligue 1 trophy given the firepower their squad boasts. If PSG can continue their fluid movement, dominating the midfield and their quick combination passes, it looks set to be another season to remember.
Spurs hoping to forget their European final woes

Despite today’s result, Spurs will want to gather up as much momentum as possible going into their league opener with Burnley. This will also be their first appearance back in the Champions League since 2023. Thomas Frank will be desperate to improve on what Spurs achieved last season. Tottenham will have to make do this season without their star man Heung-Min Son; however, could someone potentially step in to fill his boots? Spurs defended well most of the game and scored two goals from set pieces, something they will hope to build off of as the season starts.
