The wait is finally over for the Gunners! After 22 years without a Premier League title, Arsenal were crowned champions on Tuesday after Manchester City failed to win away from home vs. Bournemouth.

The celebrations started immediately in the streets near Emirates Stadium, with flares, chants, and thousands of fans celebrating a title for the first time since the «Invincibles» winners of 2004. Arsenal have one remaining Premier League match on Sunday at Selhurst Park vs. Crystal Palace. With both teams playing in a European final the following week, rotation will be expected for both sides.

Arsenal’s domestic success came from their dominance on the defensive side of the game. Arsenal have conceded just 26 goals this season (fewest in the league), while allowing the fewest shots (8.1), shots on target (2.4), and xG (0.74) per game across Europe’s top five leagues.

While some have questioned Arsenal’s offensive power, the team has been dominant on set pieces. Arsenal set a joint-competition record by scoring from set pieces in 19 of 37 Premier League matches this season. However, Arsenal have scored one goal or fewer in 11 of their last 12 games across all competitions.

Now, Arsenal’s focus shifts to the Champions League final on May 30th. The London side will be heavy underdogs against a very dominant PSG team. Both teams are already league champions, so they will have plenty of time to rest and recover before the final and most important game of the season.
