The summer transfer window is well underway, with every club trying to add to their squad ahead of the upcoming season. We have seen some major deals already done this summer, but many more are still to come. Let’s take a look at some of the players heavily linked with big money moves this window.
Yan Diomande (Winger – RB Leipzig – 19 years old)
Diomande was playing for an academy in Florida just a few years ago, and now he is one of the most sought-after talents in football. The Ivorian winger took the Bundesliga by storm in his first season for RB Leipzig and was named Rookie of the Year. His impressive season did not stop there. He ended the campaign by helping Ivory Coast qualify for the knockout stage of the World Cup, putting in some standout performances, especially during the first few group games.
Diomande has already been linked with a move away from Leipzig since January, with clubs such as Liverpool, Tottenham, and Bayern Munich. However, since the end of the Bundesliga season, PSG have taken pole position in the race for his signature. Diomande has made it clear PSG is his main priority. With personal terms agreed, now it’s just a matter of PSG agreeing a fee with Leipzig. This move is taking longer than expected, and it is rumoured Arsenal are now sniffing around with a plan to hijack the move.
Rafael Leão ( Winger – AC Milan – 27 years old)
Leão has had a turbulent few seasons at AC Milan, with the club struggling to push on after winning their first Serie A title in over a decade in 2022. Leão was the main man in that title-winning season and has had that weight on his shoulders since, but in the last few seasons he has struggled to put up the numbers he once did.
The relationship between Leão and Milan seems broken, and a move away is inevitable at this point. The player has been offered around by his agent, Jorge Mendes, with the only offers currently coming from Turkey. Galatasaray are believed to be the ones pushing the hardest. However, Leão wants a move to the Premier League, but at this current moment no English club has shown concrete interest. Aston Villa were offered the Portuguese star but decided to go with Alejandro Garnacho instead. Tottenham have also been offered Leão but are focusing on other winger targets first. Will Leão continue to hold out hope for a move to the Premier League or take the offer on the table from Galatasaray?
Alex Scott (Centre Midfielder – Bournemouth – 22 years old)
Scott is coming off the back of a brilliant season with Bournemouth in which he helped them reach European football for the first time in the club’s history. The midfielder remains under contract with the Cherries for two more years, and the south coast club has made it clear they do not intend to let him go. However, every player has a price, and as of now Scott is refusing to sign a new contract offered by Bournemouth. Top Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the 22-year-old midfielder. Chelsea are the only club known to have made a formal offer as of now, with a £64 million bid having been turned down. This one could go right down to the end of the window.
Cristian Romero (Centre Back – Tottenham Hotspur – 28 years old)
Romero has become an established Premier League centre back since joining Tottenham in 2021, and is widely regarded as one of the best in the league. However, his best work has definitely been at international level with Argentina—becoming a World Cup winner in 2022 and winning back-to-back Copa America titles. This is not to say his time at Tottenham hasn’t been a success. He was man of the match in the Europa League final win over Manchester United in 2025 and was named club captain last season. Despite this, Romero has always been criticised for his habit of rash tackles and losing his head at times while playing for Tottenham. Spurs fans were noticeably frustrated last season, when he spent time out for accumulating too many yellow cards, on top of the two red cards he received over the campaign.
It’s been known for a few months now that Romero is on his way out, and has been heavily linked to European giants Barcelona and Inter Milan. It appears Inter Milan are more likely at this moment, with Barcelona only considering a move if they have a departure in the centre-back position. It’s also hard to rule out Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid coming in for the Argentine, having both been linked with him in the past few seasons.
Gonzalo Garcia (Striker – Real Madrid – 22 years old)
After a breakout Club World Cup in 2025, Gonzalo Garcia has struggled to become a mainstay in the striker position for Los Blancos. The abundance of world-class talent Real Madrid have in attacking positions makes it almost impossible for academy talent to progress into the first team. The young striker scored sporadically throughout last season and looked capable when called upon. However, with Mbappe being preferred as a number nine, if he wants first-team football, he needs to look for a fresh start elsewhere.
Currently it looks like a move to the Premier League is most likely, with Fulham reportedly in talks for the young striker. It looks a tricky negotiation, as Real Madrid would likely look to engineer a similar deal they struck with Como when selling Nico Paz. This would see Madrid hold some sort of affordable buy-back clause for the player. A potential loan with no buy option is also on the table, similar to the deal they made with Lyon for Endrick.
