The sixth edition of the Leagues Cup began this week, with Inter Miami opening their tournament play on Wednesday, August 5. Inter Miami won the inaugural expanded edition in 2023, and narrowly won a second title last year after finishing as runners-up against Seattle.
Due to last year’s altercation during the 2025 Leagues Cup Final, striker Luis Suarez is suspended for six games and will miss the entirety of this year’s edition. With Casemiro and Rodrigo De Paul set to make their Leagues Cup debuts and Messi returning to action this weekend, Inter Miami will see themselves as favorites to win this year.
