Matchday 4 of the 2026 Apertura kicked off this Saturday with a game that promised excitement but ended up leaving fans wanting to cheer for a goal.
Atlante and Toluca played to a 0-0 draw at the Coloso de Santa Úrsula, in a match where both teams had chances to take the lead, though neither could find a way to break the deadlock.
From the opening minutes, the two teams were locked in an intense battle for possession.
Atlante had the clearest chance of the first half
During the first quarter-hour, the match was fairly even. Both the Potros and the Diablos sought to gain possession and advance down the field.
Around the half-hour mark, Atlante began to take a more prominent role.
The blue-and-red team pushed forward and managed to create a few chances that tested goalkeeper Luis García.
Toluca, however, was quick to react. Over the next few minutes, the Scarlets began to move the ball more effectively and found spaces to get close to the opponent’s goal.
But just when it seemed the visitors were taking control, Atlante created another dangerous opportunity.
On a counterattack, Calzadilla received the ball and sprinted toward the box. The No. 19 found himself practically one-on-one with Toluca’s goalkeeper, though his shot lacked power and ended up in the goalkeeper’s hands.
The goal still hadn’t come.

In the second half, both Atlante and Toluca made adjustments in an effort to find the goal that could tip the scales.
The opening minutes were once again fiercely contested, mainly in midfield.
The ball went back and forth, and neither team was able to dominate for extended periods.
And as often happens in these types of matches, as the clock began to tick down toward the end, the tension mounted.
Atlante came close to scoring in the 84th minute
In the closing stages, the Potros began to create more danger.
Atlante pushed forward with greater determination and managed to put the Scarlet defense under pressure.

Shortly afterward, Guamerú tried to turn the tide with a long-range shot.
