Harry Kane is close to extending his contract with Bayern Munich through 2029, in a deal that reflects the English forward’s intention to continue his career in German soccer beyond his current contract.
The forward joined the Bavarian club in 2023 and is under contract through the end of the 2026–2027 season. However, his desire to remain with the club has spurred talks to reach a new agreement.
Max Eberl, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, acknowledged that negotiations are progressing well, though he clarified that there is still no official announcement regarding the renewal.
“We’re having good talks, and we’re hopeful, but there’s nothing to announce yet,” the executive said when referring to the status of the talks.
Kane has repeatedly expressed his intention to stay in Germany, where he has won two Bundesliga titles and one DFB-Pokal since joining the Munich team.
Kane Sets Record-Breaking Stats in Germany
The English forward’s performance also underscores his importance to Bayern. Kane became the fastest player in Bundesliga history to reach 100 goals, achieving the milestone in just 98 games.
In total, he has scored 154 goals in 156 matches with the German club, statistics that keep him among the top players in European soccer.
Furthermore, his most recent performances place him among the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or, the next award ceremony for which is scheduled for October 26.
As talks continue, Bayern Munich is working toward a contract extension that would allow the club to retain one of its key offensive players through 2029.
