World Soccer.—Mexican music took the field at BMO Stadium with performances by Luis Coronel and Grupo Desde Cero, who were part of NOCHE LAFC, a celebration organized by Los Angeles Football Club on October 10 as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event brought together soccer, music, and cultural expressions to recognize Los Angeles’ Latin American roots, turning the sporting event into an opportunity to connect with the Hispanic community through its traditions.

Luis Coronel Stars in One of LAFC’s Most Iconic Moments

One of the highlights of the celebration was Luis Coronel’s participation as an honorary falconer, tasked with performing the traditional falcon flight—one of the most iconic symbols of LAFC’s identity.

The invitation allowed the singer to connect with fans from a perspective beyond music and to be part of a tradition that sets the Los Angeles club apart.

Renowned for his contributions to the regional Mexican music scene, Coronel has built a career that resonates with audiences in both Mexico and the United States. His participation in NOCHE LAFC also highlighted the presence of Mexican artists at sporting events that seek to celebrate the city’s cultural diversity.

Grupo Desde Cero Sets the Pace Before the Match

Music also played a special role in the pre-game programming, thanks to a live performance by Grupo Desde Cero, which brought its musical style to the stadium to entertain the crowd.

The show was part of the activities organized to celebrate Latin American culture and featured the folk group Chiquina Palafox Los Angeles, which offered a glimpse into the community’s traditions.

In this way, NOCHE LAFC went beyond soccer and transformed the stadium into a space for sharing diverse artistic and cultural expressions.

Luis Coronel, a Leading Figure in Regional Mexican Music

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Luis Coronel is one of the leading figures of the new generation of Mexican regional music. His career began to gain momentum thanks to social media, where he connected with an audience that later supported him as he grew within the music industry.

Throughout his career, he has received recognition at various award ceremonies, including the Latin Billboard Music Awards, the Premios Juventud, and the Latin American Music Awards. He has also collaborated with artists such as Farruko, Becky G, Leslie Grace, Los Recoditos, and Los Ángeles Azules, exploring different sounds within Latin music.

In addition to his work as a singer, Coronel has appeared on television as a judge and host of Estrella TV’s *Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento* and was a cast member on Telemundo’s *Top Chef VIP* in 2022.

In 2024, he released “Me Enamoras,” a ballad with banda sinaloense influences that showcased a more mature side of his vocal performance.

NOCHE LAFC Celebrates Los Angeles’ Latin Roots

Featuring Luis Coronel, Grupo Desde Cero, and the folk group Chiquina Palafox Los Angeles, NOCHE LAFC combined entertainment and sports in an event dedicated to recognizing the influence of the Latino community.

The celebration also highlighted the role of Mexican music as a meeting point between generations and cultures, demonstrating that a team’s identity can transcend the field and reflect the roots of those who support it.

Thus, amid the flight of the falcon, musical performances, and the soccer atmosphere, NOCHE LAFC transformed BMO Stadium into a space to celebrate Latino culture during Hispanic Heritage Month.
