Will PSG make a miraculous comeback or will Bayern squeeze themselves through to the quarterfinals

How both teams head into this clash

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain will face off for the second leg of the Uefa Champions League.  These teams have faced each other a total of twelve times both getting six wins each including a champions league final where Bayern won. Bayern head into this clash with a 1-0 advantage but the question is will they be able to hold their nerve and make the quarterfinals. Can PSG make a dramatic comeback and edge closer towards the one trophy that they have been hoping for. Futbol Mundial brings you how each team heads into the match and the favorites to advance to the next round.

Will Bayern hold their lead

Bayern Munich heads into this clash with a slender 1-0 lead. They will be in front of their home fans and will want to do something special. Bayern has had an average season by their standards drawing seven games and losing two. The German Champions are known to have defensive weaknesses in De Ligt and Upamecano who can be shaky at times. Bayern are slight favorites heading into this clash and have the weapons to expose PSG. With a fierce counter attack in Musiala, Gnabry and Sane they are not a team to be taken lightly. If Bayern advance it will be their fourth consecutive quarterfinal. They will want to erase the memories from two years ago when they lost to Villarreal and go all the way and win the trophy.

Will PSG make a miraculous comeback infront of the Allianz faithful

PSG has been phenomenal in their last three games and are looking like they might just turn their season around. With the likes of Messi and Mbappe they are duo that no defense wants to face now. They have scored a combined 8 goals and 3 assists and will be hoping to be firing on all cylinders on the clash on Wednesday. If Messi scores he will reach 800 goals in his career and he will be hoping to get on the scoresheet. With Messi spectacular vision and intelligence and Mbappe’s speed and incredible finishing a comeback is certainly not doubted. For several years PSG has had a goal to win the Champions League. They have signed the likes of Mbappe, Neymar, Messi and Hakimi just to win one trophy but have fallen short on man.

PSG hoping to go one step closer to their goal of winning the Champions League

Games like this are decided by the slightest margins and one defensive mistake or chances missed could have either team living in regret. Bayern Munich must be weary as the PSG team they faced in the first leg is a very different team and they will find it much more difficult. PSG have won all their games since the first leg including an incredible performance against their great rivals Marseille. Whereas Bayern lost one game to 10th place Monchengladbach. One thing that is for sure is that Julian Nagelsmann will have a lot of pressure on him and tomorrow’s result could define his season. The last time PSG came to the Allianz Arena they were victorious thanks to an Mbappe brace.
