Man City to face Bayern in the biggest clash of the quarterfinals

City

A tactical battle between coaches

The quarter finals draw is set and only eight teams remain. They are many exciting and fascinating tie’s that make it hard to pick a favorite.

Some of these draws are even worthy of a final. However the draw that has caught the eye of most people is Manchester City vs Bayern Munich which is arguably the draw to watch. With Pep Guardiola facing Julian Nagelsmann in a master vs apprentice clash it will be interesting to see how it plays out. With this clash being full of great players it could be decided by the smallest margins.

Manchester City go into this clash as favorites

Manchester City who are favorites to win the Champions League face their toughest test here. The Cityzens are looking to win their first Champions League as they have come close many times and not won. Beating Bayern Munich could be a huge step to finally doing it.

The Cityzens are unbeaten in nine games in all competitions and they will hope to keep their good form up going into this clash. They put in arguably their most convincing performance against RB Leipzig who they thrashed 7-0 with Haaland scoring five goals. Manchester City currently stand a good chance of lifting the treble given that they are second in the premier league. City are also in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup against Burnley. They will without a doubt be relying on Haaland who has 39 goals in 35 games with 10 of those coming in six UCL games.

Bayern Munich have alot to prove going into this clash

Bayern Munich who have not been all that impressive this season drawing 7 games and losing two would be considered the underdogs going into this clash. The Bavarians managed to keep a clean sheet against PSG over two legs.

This is an impressive feet considering PSG have one of the best attacks in Europe. Bayern are so far unbeaten in the Champions League making them one of the favorites. This Bayern team is spreading out the goal’s throughout their attack which makes them not rely on just one player. It makes them harder to predict and gives them options. With the second leg at the Allianz Arena Bayern fans will definitely make themselves known and that particular game could decide the tie.

City will look to De Bruyne and Haaland

Despite Manchester City being the favorites Bayern must not be ruled out. There is a month to go before this clash and anything can happen between that time like players suffering injuries. Manchester City will hope to keep all their key players fit especially the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne who can make the difference. Regardless of which way this clash goes you can most likely expect for this to be a high goal scoring contest between the two sides.
