Real Madrid’s big summer signing
Real Madrid are closing in on a move for Yan Diomande after appearing to swoop in at the last minute to beat PSG to the Ivorian’s signature. Diomande had looked certain to be signing for the European champions all summer, with personal terms agreed and the winger supposedly giving priority to the French side. However, PSG never had an agreement on a fee with his current club, RB Leipzig. This is where the door was slightly ajar for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have offered close to the €120 million Leipzig are demanding in order to part ways with Diomande. Personal terms are agreed, and it appears just a matter of time before a total agreement is reached. PSG were unwilling to meet Leipzig’s hefty price tag set on the 19-year-old.
Adding experience to a young Chelsea squad
Under new manager Xabi Alonso, it looks as if Chelsea are switching up their recruitment strategy. In previous transfer windows, Chelsea have invested hundreds of millions in some of the most promising talent in football. However, this spending has not resulted in the level of success the club has become accustomed to over the past decade or so. However, as of today, the London club are reportedly in talks to sign veteran striker Danny Welbeck, and are also looking at the possibility of signing Jordan Henderson on a free from Brentford. The two deals are in the early stages, but with both of them not requiring large transfer fees, we could see them accelerate in the next few days.
Young Spanish star may be on the move to the Premier League
Levante UD striker Carlos Espi is reportedly on his way out of the La Liga side, with sources in Spain claiming multiple clubs are ready to trigger the youngster’s release clause of €25 million. Espi had a standout season last year after breaking into Levante’s first team, scoring 13 goals in all competitions. The striker was a big factor in the club surviving relegation. A few of the clubs rumoured to be willing to trigger the release clause currently include: Hull City, Ipswich Town, and Bologna.
Inter Milan looking to make double move for Premier League centre backs
Inter Milan are looking at strengthening their defensive line with a move for England centre back John Stones. Stones recently left Manchester City at the conclusion of his contract and is available on a free transfer. Inter Milan are on the verge of securing a move for Stones, with the player due to sign a contract until 2028, worth €4 million a season.
Inter are also looking at securing the services of Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cristian Romero. The Argentine defender is known to be on his way out of Tottenham, with both parties agreeing it’s the right time to move on. Inter are currently showing the most concrete interest in Romero, although they aren’t willing to spend big on the player. The exact fee wanted by Tottenham is not known as of now; however, it is known that Inter aren’t willing to pay what Tottenham are currently quoting. The London club are understood to want north of €40 million, with Romero still having three years left on his contract.
