Club América is in the final stages of negotiations to finalize the transfer of 23-year-old attacking midfielder Carlos Álvarez Rivera from Spain’s Levante UD.
According to reports in the Spanish press, the Liga MX club’s management submitted an offer of 6 million euros plus performance bonuses for a three-season contract. Both the European club and the player are said to have accepted the proposal, paving the way for his arrival in Mexican soccer this Tuesday.
Álvarez would join the squad coached by Guillermo Almada. Currently, América leads the 2026 Apertura tournament with 16 points and is preparing to compete in the Leagues Cup semifinals for the first time.
The Spanish player signed with Levante UD in 2023, while the team was in the Second Division, and established himself as a key player in the campaign that culminated in the club’s return to the top flight in the 2025–26 season.
During his time with the Valencian club, Álvarez played in 105 official matches, scoring 14 goals and recording 14 assists. Now playing in LaLiga’s top flight, he has appeared in 30 matches, scoring three goals and recording one assist. His most recent appearance with the team was in the season opener against RCD Espanyol.
