Gilberto Mora is experiencing a special moment in his young career. The Mexican midfielder for Xolos de Tijuana was chosen by Lionel Messi to be part of the third season of the Messi +10 campaign, an adidas initiative that brings together 10 young talents from the world of soccer.
The Mexican soccer player expressed his excitement and gratitude for being selected to join the group of rising stars representing a new generation of players.
“It’s an honor to be part of Messi +10. Thank you to Messi and adidas for choosing me. Wearing your cleats will be a dream come true,” Mora wrote on his Instagram account.
The campaign was unveiled on October 11 and features Messi as the star of a commercial in which the world champion highlights young soccer players of different nationalities. Among those chosen is Mora, whom the production team recognizes for his maturity, skill, and technique.
The list of selected talents includes Tomás Aranda, Can Uzun, Gilberto Mora, Max Dowman, Zavier Gozo, Jesús Rodríguez, Kees Smit, Chloe Sarwie, Giovanna Waksman, and Lotta Wrede. The group brings together representatives from both men’s and women’s soccer.
Under the tagline “Ten chapters that rewrite the future of the game,” adidas presents the Mexican player as one who combines maturity on the field with technical skills—qualities that have shaped his development since his debut with Xolos de Tijuana.
Mora has also been part of the Mexican national team since he was 15, initially as a training partner and later as part of the national team’s development process, eventually going on to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Being selected for this initiative alongside Messi is a recognition for the young Mexican, who is now part of a campaign that spotlights rising stars seeking to make their mark in international soccer.
