The Spanish national team continues to showcase its strong form in the UEFA Nations League. The team coached by Luis de la Fuente defeated the Czech Republic 3-1 in the third matchday of Group C, with a standout performance by Lamine Yamal, who opened the scoring with a true masterpiece of a goal.

La Roja came out strong at Carlos Tartiere Stadium and needed just six minutes to take the lead. The young Barcelona forward received the ball near the box and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that found the top right corner, leaving goalkeeper Antonín Kinský with no chance.

The goal set the tone for a first half in which Spain dominated play and scored its second goal in the 35th minute. Rodrigo capitalized on a pass inside the box and simply had to tap it in to extend the lead before halftime.

Czechia fights back, but Spain prevails

With the score at 2-0, Spain seemed to have the match under control. However, the Czech Republic found an opportunity to get back into the game.

In the 58th minute, Jiří Sláma received the ball on the right flank and fired a left-footed shot across the goal that beat goalkeeper David Raya. The goal narrowed the gap and added excitement to the final minutes of the match.

The Czech comeback, however, hit a snag in the closing stages. In the 85th minute, Ladislav Krejčí was sent off, leaving his team down to ten men just as they were pushing for the equalizer.

Spain took advantage of its numerical superiority and ultimately sealed the victory in the 90th minute. Mikel Merino stepped up to score the final goal, making it 3-1 and securing another win for Luis de la Fuente’s team.

Spain remains at the top of its group

With this win, Spain reached nine points in three matches and maintained its perfect record in the competition. La Roja had begun its campaign with a 3-2 away victory over England and subsequently routed Croatia 4-1, with a brace from Lamine Yamal.

The result against the Czech Republic confirms the Spanish team’s strong form, as the young Barcelona forward has emerged as one of its key offensive weapons.

For its part, England remains the closest challenger, with six points—three fewer than the leader.

With three matchdays completed, Spain is in control of Group C and will look to maintain its strong momentum in the upcoming Nations League matches. Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal continues to establish himself as one of the most influential players on a national team that aims to keep making history.
