Rumors have grown over the last few weeks as Manchester City look to finalize their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Rodri to FC Barcelona
Rodri’s departure is imminent, with FC Barcelona set to sign the Spanish midfielder. Recent reports suggest that Barca have now submitted a second offer for Rodri worth €65m plus €5m in add-ons. Negotiations have been progressing following the first offer of €45m plus €15m in add-ons being denied by City. This departure would be a big loss for City and would likely trigger them re-entering the market for another midfielder.
Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for a near €100 million fee
Man City are reportedly close to signing Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille. The French club are set to receive around €99.5 million for the 18-year-old midfielder, with an agreement on the contract terms is already in place for the Moroccan World Cup star. The plan for Bouaddi would be for him to be integreated into the squad immediately, with no intention of the midfielder being loaned back.
Multiple loan departures
After multiple players being assessed throughout preseason by Enzo Maresca, there have been multiple loan departures announced over the last hours by the press.
- Divin Mubama (to Southampton)
- Kalvin Phillips (to Sheffield United)
- Max Alleyne (to Burnley)
Manchester City’s season begins on Sunday, August 16, with a matchup against Arsenal in the Community Shield.
