Mohamed Salah arrived in Turkey on Wednesday to sign with Trabzonspor after agreeing to a two-year deal with the club.
Salah became a free agent this summer following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool. The Egyptian star played nine seasons at Anfield, scoring 257 goals in 442 appearances. Salah will go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest players, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
After being linked to a potential move to either MLS or the Saudi Pro League, Salah decided to remain in Europe, picking Trabzonspor over rivals Besiktas. Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and will play in the UEFA Europa League this season. The signing of Salah automatically puts the Turkish club as one of the most interesting teams in the competition.
Despite his form dipping towards the end of his Liverpool tenure, a 34-year-old Mohamed Salah is still more than capable of performing on the European stage.
