Rodri, who has been heavily linked to Real Madrid all summer, is now reportedly interested in a move to FC Barcelona.
The Manchester City midfielder has opened his doors to Barcelona, informing the Catalan club about his willingness to negotiate contract terms. Barca remain careful in their approach, with Real Madrid still involved, until his final decision is communicated to Man City.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Rodri spoke to Deco and Hansi Flick and gave his green light to Barcelona and their project. An official contract proposal has been sent to Rodri’s agent, and now Barca must negotiate with Manchester City.
FC Barcelona initial bid of around €45M, plus €15M in bonuses was rejected with Man City seeking a higher fee for the Workd Cup champion. With negotiations expected to advance quickly, new updates on the move are expected soon.
According to Paul Hurst of TimesSport, Man City are holding out for a fee of about £60M and Barcelona are willing to meet that figure, with a down payment of about £55M, plus at least another £5M in add-ons.
