Transfer Deadline Day is fast approaching, with the window closing tomorrow night for the top leagues in Europe. Teams are still frantically trying to improve their squads before it slams shut, so let’s take a look at some of the deals currently being attempted.
Matias Fernandez-Pardo to Newcastle United?
Newcastle United have agreed a fee with Lille to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo. The Magpies are set to pay €60 million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old. This was a move that looked unlikely, with the Lille forward wanting to play Champions League football. However, the Belgian is convinced by the Newcastle project under Matthias Jaissle. The deal is in the process of being finalised, and Fernandez-Pardo will travel to Newcastle shortly for a medical. If all goes to plan, he will then sign a five-year contract until 2031.
Claudio Echeverri to Benfica?
Echeverri looks set to exit Manchester City yet again in search of consistent game time. The Argentinian wonder kid is clearly very talented, but is currently not in City’s immediate plans. Benfica are interested in Echeverri and are working on a deal. It is yet to be confirmed if this loan offer will include an option to buy, but sources in Portugal are suggesting it does. Benfica are not the only team interested in loaning the City forward, with Real Betis and Sheffield United also looking at making a move.
Iliman Ndiaye to Man City? Richarlison to Everton?
Tottenham originally agreed a £60 million deal for Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, but the Senegalese winger is set to join Man City now. Then, in a separate move, Everton have agreed a total package of £35 million for Tottenham striker Richarlison. However, the Brazilian striker is yet to agree on personal terms with the Toffees and has offers to consider from clubs in Turkey. Although these deals are not directly linked, it now seems that Richarlison will not agree terms with Everton. Tottenham now seem to be turning their attention to Mykhailo Mudryk, with the idea of revitalizing the Ukrainian winger’s career.
Enzo Fernandez to Man City?
Manchester City are still pushing for a move to sign Enzo Fernandez. The Chelsea midfielder has made it known that he wants to explore a move away and has already agreed personal terms with the Citizens. A deal won’t be cheap as Chelsea are demanding upwards of £120 million for the Argentinian, but Man City are keen to complete a deal before tomorrow’s deadline.
Malick Fofana to Arsenal?
Arsenal have made an official approach for Lyon’s Malick Fofana, as they look to sign a left-sided forward before the deadline tomorrow night. Arsenal are in contact with the player’s camp, Roc Nation, and Olympique Lyon are open to discussions. The French side value the winger at around €40 million, which Arsenal believe to be too high, but the clubs are currently in negotiations to find an agreement. Fofana is said to be keen on the move.
