Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City?
Enzo Fernandez has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the end of last season, after publicly mentioning his eagerness to live in Madrid on a Twitch live stream. This angered Chelsea fans and led to the club internally suspending him, leading to the Argentinian missing two Premier League games.
In May, Chelsea agreed with the player’s camp that he would be available at £120 million for any potential suitors, effectively making it a non-official release clause. Over the course of the summer window, it appeared Manchester City were the most likely destination for the midfielder. Chelsea set a deadline for Manchester City, and any other interested club, to make an offer matching the £120 million verbal release clause. However, that deadline passed today at 5 pm BST, and no offer came in matching their price tag. Manchester City are still interested and are in contact with Enzo’s camp, but they’d now have to negotiate on different terms. Any deal now is likely to cost over the original £120 million. It’s unknown if City will continue their pursuit of the midfielder.
Savinho and Gakpo to Tottenham?
Tottenham are looking to add to their squad in forward areas, with Savinho and Gakpo priority targets. Savinho is one that they have been trying to get across the line all summer. Personal terms have been agreed with the Brazilian, and the player wants the move. However, City are delaying the deal, insistent on getting a replacement in before giving the green light to allow the winger to depart. A move for Savinho is expected to cost the London club upwards of £65 million.
Then there is Cody Gakpo, who Tottenham see as a versatile option for their forward line, able to play on the wing or as a striker. De Zerbi is thought to be adamant on the signing of the Liverpool forward. This a more complicated move compared to the Savinho one, as Liverpool aren’t actively looking to sell the Dutchman. However, Liverpool’s move for Barcola from PSG could be key in Tottenham’s pursuit of Gakpo. If the Merseyside club seal a move for Barcola, there is a feeling this could leave them more open to the idea of Gakpo departing. A deal for Gakpo wouldn’t be cheap, with Liverpool are currently demanding a fee in the region of £70 million.
Luis Suárez to Barcelona?
No, this isn’t about a shock return to Barcelona for legendary Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez. This is Colombian and Sporting Lisbon forward, Luis Suárez, who scored 38 goals last season for Sporting and has caught the eye of the Spanish giants. However, Sporting have no plans to sell the Colombian and have made it clear he is a key part of their plans for this season. Since June, any club interested in Suárez has been pointed to his €80 million release clause. Barcelona are interested, and are expected to make a move if they fail in their move for Julián Alvarez.
Osimhen to Arsenal?
Victor Osimhen seems to be linked to top Premier League clubs every window, as the striker has made it publicly known it is his dream to play in England’s top flight. The Nigerian has been a player discussed in Tottenham’s search for a new centre forward, but nothing has come from it. Now the Galatasaray star is wanted by the red side of North London. Galatasaray have been in negotiations with Arsenal over moves for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. During these negotiations, Osimhen’s name was brought up, with Arsenal seeing the striker as an alternative to their dream signing, Julián Alvarez. Although, Martinelli has now made it clear that he doesn’t intend on moving to the Turkish league at this point in his career. It is unclear if Arsenal will still pursue a move for Osimhen, separately from a deal involving Martinelli or Nwaneri.
