Man United hoping to edge rivals Spurs

Man United and Tottenham reach the Europa League final as the two unlikeliest teams defy the odds and reach the final. Both clubs secured convincing victories over their opponents in the semifinals to set up an all English final. The red devils demolished competition favorites Athletic Club 7-1 on aggregate whilst Spurs defeat Bodo/Glimt 5-1 on aggregate. Both teams are below the top ten in the premier league and have a Europe League trophy would add joy to an already difficult season. Man United will definitely be favorites going into this final. However the fact that Spurs have not won a trophy in a while will motivate them to beat their premier league rivals Man United.
Europa league has brought the best of United

The struggles of Man United seem endless but their convincing win against a strong Athletic side will definitely boost them for the end of their campaign. The Red devils have struggled with numerous defensive issues this season conceding a whooping 42 goals in 35 matches. They also lack balance in midfield which does not help their case. Not to mention their lack of creativity which has seen them struggle for goals. However when it has come the Europa League this season Man United have displayed a never say die spirit. The best example would be when they came from 4-2 to win 5-4 against Lyon. Man United also managed to net seven goals past a solid Bilbao side.
Tottenham hoping to end their trophy drought

Tottenham alongside Man United have not had a convincing season. Spurs currently sit in 16th place in the premier league further reiterating their poor season. The last time they came in a position this low was the 1991-92 season. Many fans have asked questions of Postecoglou but not they find themselves in a position of a European trophy. Winning the Europa League against Man United will give them a chance to end their trophy drought of 17 years. Spurs have missed Kane and it has really showed as they have failed to find a player who can match his numbers. Their tight fixture schedule as well as their injuries have all played a role in their struggles this season. Spurs will now want to ensure all of their players are fit for the final against Man United
