While we may not have gotten another nine-goal Champions League thriller, PSG and Bayern Munich once again put together a world-class show as these two heavyweights finished level after 90 minutes. PSG came into the night with a one-goal advantage after defeating Bayern Munich 5-4 in the first leg in Paris.

Despite Bayern needing to come out strong and erase the deficit, it was PSG who scored within 3 minutes to extend their advantage. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was once again at the center of the action as his run down the left flank led to a wonderful square ball across to Ousmane Dembélé, who opened the scoring. Bayern Munich struggled to find its groove on the offensive end, with just 5 of its 15 shots on target. PSG had a great defensive display to limit Bayern, led by man of the match Willian Pacho.

Similar to the Arsenal-Atletico match, this game was also marked by controversial referee decisions. Joao Neves and Nuno Mendes both had handballs that could have resulted in a penalty and a second yellow card, respectively. Despite this, neither call went in Bayern’s favor, which could have significantly changed the course of the match.

Vincent Kompany and his team will feel wronged by these decisions, especially considering that Alphonse Davies was penalized for a handball in the first leg, even though the ball had deflected off his body first. Bayern Munich continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, and Harry Kane managed to score a goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late for the German side.

Paris Saint-Germain will face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30th in Budapest, Hungary.
