The club’s new audiovisual universe is directly integrated into its website and official app, offering a unified experience that brings together exclusive content, live streams, and services tailored to its members and fans.
FC Barcelona has taken a decisive step forward in its technology strategy by officially launching Barça Play, its new audiovisual universe. This platform aims to consolidate the club’s digital ecosystem, evolving into an integrated environment where content, benefits, and services coexist in one place.
With this launch, Barça continues to adapt to the changing consumption habits of football fans, centralizing its offerings under a single digital identity driven by the Barça Identity, Barça Media, and Technology divisions.
Members Take Center Stage
The official presentation took place in an immersive format led by Joan Laporta, the club’s president. For this special occasion, FC Barcelona invited a representative group of its membership, who were able to experience the new platform’s features firsthand through an interactive tour.
The launch reflects a very clear strategic decision: to place members at the center of the project. In this first phase of implementation, club members will have the privilege of accessing and testing the platform completely free of charge.
Barcelona’s digital footprint continues to grow. Currently, its official app has over 800,000 unique weekly users, representing a spectacular 30% increase over the previous year.
What does Barça Play’s audiovisual offering include?
The platform brings together the club’s entire historical archive and original productions, offering an extremely appealing lineup for any Barça fan:
- Archive and Original Productions: Access to historic matches, documentaries, series, interviews, and exclusive content under the “Inside Barça” label.
- Live Broadcasts: Users can enjoy preseason matches, Barça Atlètic games at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, Barça Legends games, and La Masia matches every weekend.
- First Team Coverage: During the regular season, there will be programs from the stadium, analysis, special guests, and exclusive content surrounding the first team’s matches.
- TOP BARÇA: A 24-hour linear channel featuring continuous programming of legendary matches, goals, and documentaries.
An Evolving “All-in-One” Platform
Barça Play is just the first phase of an ambitious project. The club’s goal is to gradually transform its official app into an all-in-one platform. According to the implementation schedule, ticketing and e-commerce services will soon be integrated, bringing together all the needs of Barça fans just a click away.
Regarding this vision for the future, Paloma Mikadze, director of Barça Identity & Barça Media 360, highlighted the importance of this development:
“With Barça Play, we didn’t want to create just another platform, but rather to build FC Barcelona’s new audiovisual universe. Members are at the heart of the project, which is why they are the first to enjoy the content for free. This is a phased rollout that will eventually be extended to Culers Premium members and fans as well. It is the result of a collaborative effort combining brand, content, and innovation to create a digital experience ready to continue evolving.”
With this project, FC Barcelona is not only strengthening its own channels but also solidifying a direct, modern, and personalized relationship with its vast global community.
