MLS returned for its first full matchweek since before the World Cup on Wednesday, July 22, with all 30 teams in action. The midweek action was highlighted by the debuts of Antoine Griezmann and Robert Lewandowski, alongside a 7-goal thriller between FC Cincinnati and Vancouver.
Saturday’s matchday is highlighted by Lewandowski’s trip to New York to face off against NYCFC, and Griezmann and Orlando City hosting Eastern Conference leaders Nashville FC.
Inter Miami remain without Messi and De Paul, as they head on the road to face off against Montreal. Currently five points behind Nashville, Miami must continue on pace without Messi to stay in the Supporters’ Shield race.
In the Western Conference, Vancouver and San Jose are tied at the top with 32 points, with LAFC just two points behind with 30 points. Vancouver heads on the road to face Minnesota, San Jose hosts LA Galaxy, and LAFC play at home against a struggling Sporting Kansas City side.
