The 2026 MLS All-Star Game in Charlotte, North Carolina, was highlighted by the first-half heroics of Son Heung-Min. His brace in the opening 45 minutes spearheaded the MLS All-Stars to their second straight All-Star Game win, and their fourth in five matchups.
Luis Gabriel Rey (Chivas) opened the scoring for Liga MX after just 9 minutes, which was quickly responded by a three-minute brace from Son (LAFC). Both of his goals were assisted by Carles Gil (New England), who thoroughly impressed in his 35 minutes played.
Philip Zinckernagel (Chicago) added to the lead late in the first half, but Salomón Rondón (Pachuca) scored in the 55th minute to pull the Liga MX All-Stars back into the game.
Evander (FC Cincinnati) once again re-established the two-goal lead for MLS just three minutes later, but José Paradela (Cruz Azul) scored a stoppage-time goal for LIGA MX to make for an interesting final minutes.
Son Heung-min, who scored a brace, was named the 2026 MLS All-Star Game MVP.
