Tigres is considering imposing an internal sanction on Nahuel Guzmán following his ejection in the match against the Vancouver Whitecaps and due to the circumstances surrounding the incident with referee Iván Barton.
The Tigres board backed the goalkeeper after he argued that he did not see the referee before pushing him. However, the club is formally reviewing possible disciplinary action and is also awaiting the sanction to be determined by the Leagues Cup regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Tigres continues to work on finalizing the appointment of its next head coach. Colombian Óscar Pareja appears to be a real option, although he has not yet been chosen. The board has also held talks with Juan Carlos Osorio, an option that seems unlikely but has not been ruled out.
As for Juan Reynoso, his arrival is practically out of the question.
In the absence of a final decision on the new head coach, Hernán Elizondo has been given the green light to lead Tigres this coming Saturday against Atlas. The board intends to finalize the hiring of the new head coach next week.
On another front, Juan Brunetta’s future is also up in the air. Following the offer made by Al-Diriyah of Saudi Arabia, the Tigres board informed the Argentine player that the decision to leave is in his hands in order to move forward with negotiations.
However, Tigres is hoping that the Saudi club will improve its financial offer so that talks regarding the player can continue.
