The Spanish fullback shared the finished tattoo on social media; it was done during his vacation with renowned tattoo artist Ganga and influencer Ceciarmy. The design features the Spanish coach’s face holding the World Cup trophy, accompanied by the 2026 World Cup logo.
The image quickly went viral, as Cucurella’s pledge had drawn attention ever since it was revealed during the tournament. With the world title already secured, the defender wasted no time and fulfilled the promise he had made before Spain lifted the trophy.
The story didn’t end there. After getting the tattoo, a new challenge was set for the 2030 World Cup: it was announced that if Spain wins the championship again, Cucurella will get the tattoo suggested by the comment with the most reactions on social media.
Another player who had made a similar promise was Álex Baena, although it is not yet known whether the midfielder also decided to get a tattoo of Luis de la Fuente’s face.
Spain won its second World Cup title on July 19 with a 1-0 victory over Argentina in the final. During the tournament, Marc Cucurella was a regular starter at left back and established himself as one of the most important players on the championship-winning team.
