Manchester City confirmed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a reported £116m fee.
The 23-year-old player rose to prominence at Newcastle United before transferring to Forest in 2024, where he quickly increased his value during his time at the City Ground. Anderson received his first senior England call-up from England manager Thomas Tuchel on August 29, 2025, and was later selected to represent England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After signing his contract with City, Anderson spoke on his future with City:
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the squad they have is amazing – so strong in every position. As soon as I knew they wanted me, I was absolutely determined to make this move happen. As a footballer, you want to test yourself at the highest level. Being at City means I have that opportunity.”
Last season, Elliot Anderson scored four goals in 50 appearances last season for Forest and led the Premier League in touches (3,300), duels won (297), and possessions won (306).
Now, at City, Elliot Anderson will play a big role under Enzo Maresca as the Manchester club looks to return to the top of the Premier League for the first time since 2024.
