Premier League returns after extended international break

Xavi Pazmino Oct 8, 2026 2 min read

After a three-week international break, the Premier League returns this weekend for Matchweek 6, with a schedule headlined by Man City’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday.

12 teams in action on Saturday

Action begins at 7:30 a.m. ET, when Arsenal host Leeds at the Emirates.

  • Arsenal vs. Leeds: Leeds have never beaten Arsenal in 13 meetings, losing 11 and drawing two. With Leeds yet to lose this season, a shock win in London would have them move above Arsenal in the table.

Four more games follow at 10:00 a.m.

  • Aston Villa vs. Brentford: The Bees are unbeaten in their last 11 matches and have won their last 3 meetings with Villa. However, Brentford have won just once in nine visits to Villa Park.
  • Chelsea vs. Bournemouth: The Cherries have yet to win a game in the Premier League, but face a big chance to secure a victory against a Chelsea side who have yet to keep a clean sheet. The Blues have scored 13 goals in their last five matches but have conceded the most goals in the Premier League this season (12).
  • Ipswich vs. Fulham: Fulham are unbeaten in their last nine meetings with Ipswich, winning six
  • Sunderland vs. Brighton: Sunderland’s three home wins this season have all finished 1-0, while Brighton’s 16 goals in five matches is the best Premier League start since Man City in 2022-23

Saturday’s headline fixture is Manchester United vs. Tottenham at 12:30 p.m.

  • Man United vs. Tottenham: A matchup featuring both teams who are in poor form at the moment. Tottenham won four straight meetings with Man Utd between September 2024 and May 2025, with at least one goal in their last 27 meetings.

Liverpool vs. Man City headline three Sunday matches, with Coventry-Newcastle closing the weekend on Monday

Crystal Palace host Nottingham Forest and Hull take on Everton, both at 9:00 a.m. ET., before the main event comes at 11:30 a.m., when Liverpool hosts Manchester City.

  • Crystal Palace vs. Nottingham Forest: Crystal Palace have never beaten Forest at Selhurst Park in seven meetings, with their last win over Forest coming back in December 2011.
  • Hull City vs. Everton: A win would see Hull leapfrog Everton in the Premier League table, but Everton are unbeaten in nine matches.
  • Liverpool vs. Man City: Manchester City have won all seven matches this season, but have won just two of their 16 Premier League visits to Anfield.
  • Coventry vs. Newcastle: Coventry have conceded six goals in just two home Premier League matches this season

All Premier League matches can be seen on USA, NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo.
