Real Madrid officially confirmed the signing of Yan Diomande, who signed a contract with the club for the next seven seasons, through June 30, 2033. The winger, who comes from RB Leipzig, becomes the sixth new addition to José Mourinho’s squad during the summer transfer window.
At 19 years old, Diomande arrives in the Spanish capital after establishing himself as one of European soccer’s most promising young players. Last season, he shone with Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where he recorded 12 goals and eight assists, in addition to standing out with the Ivory Coast national team during the World Cup.
According to available information, the deal is worth 125 million euros, plus 10 million in easily attainable performance-based bonuses and another 5 million in bonuses tied to additional targets. Although the agreement was close to being finalized days earlier, negotiations between the two clubs stalled.
Before the transfer was made official, the forward left RB Leipzig’s preseason training camp to travel to Spain and undergo a medical exam prior to signing his contract.
Diomande’s rise has been outstanding. In 2024, he was playing for the DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, before joining Leganés. After starting with the reserve team, his development caught the attention of Leipzig, which signed him in July 2025 for 20 million euros.
During this transfer window, he also drew interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, although Real Madrid was ultimately the club that secured his signing.
In a statement released by Real Madrid, the club announced: “Real Madrid C.F. and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of Yan Diomande, who will be under contract with our club for the next seven seasons, through June 30, 2033.”
