The 2026 FIFA World Cup came to a close with the official awards ceremony, an event in which one team clearly stole the show: Spain. Midfielder Rodri was awarded the adidas Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player, an honor bestowed by FIFA’s Technical Study Group (TSG).
The Spanish player topped the list of the World Cup’s best players, while Argentina’s Lionel Messi received the Silver Ball and France’s Kylian Mbappé rounded out the podium with the Bronze Ball.
In the race for the top scorer title, Kylian Mbappé claimed the adidas Golden Boot after finishing the tournament with 10 goals and four assists. Lionel Messi earned the Silver Boot thanks to his eight goals and four assists, while England’s Jude Bellingham received the Bronze Boot after scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
Spain also took home another of the most prestigious individual awards. Goalkeeper Unai Simón was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper and received the adidas Golden Glove, cementing Spain’s dominance among the official awards.
The future also had a Spanish flavor. Pau Cubarsí was honored with the Young Player of the Year award, presented by Aramco—an accolade reserved for the best player born on or after January 1, 2005.
For its part, the Netherlands national team was recognized with the FIFA Fair Play Trophy, presented by McDonald’s, after finishing as the team with the best performance in the fair play standings during the tournament.
