Spain 4-1 Croatia
In their first home match since winning the World Cup, Spain swept aside Croatia 4-1 at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville. Lamine Yamal was the star of the show with two goals and an assist, with Marc Pubil and Nico Williams adding to the scoresheet in Spain’s second UEFA Nations League win.
Yamal opened the scoring after just two minutes for the second game running, curling in Alex Baena’s cut-back. Despite early dominance from Spain, Dion Beljo levelled against the run of play just before the half-hour mark. Spain responded three minutes later when an unmarked Pubill headed a Yamal cross into the back of the net. Yamal made it three in the 63rd minute, and Williams sealed it in the 89th.
Spain are now unbeaten in 40 matches across all competitions, the best such run by a European nation, and have won nine in a row. Six points from two games keep them in control of Group A3 in the UEFA Nations League.
England 2-0 Czechia
England secured their first win of the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League campaign, beating 10-man Czechia 2-0 in Prague.
Czechia started brightly, but the game turned in the 25th minute when Pavel Sulc’s challenge on Elliot Anderson led to a VAR-upgraded red card. England needed just 67 seconds after the restart to get on the scoresheet, with Gordon nodding in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s excellent cross. Kane doubled the lead in the 68th minute with a low finish into the bottom-right corner.
After conceding 13 goals in their previous six games, Thomas Tuchel’s side will be more than happy with the shutout, though they sit behind Spain in their UEFA Nations League group.
