2 million to watch Mexico! The resale market is going crazy for the match against England

Erick Monroy Jul 2, 2026 2 min read

The excitement surrounding the Mexican National Team at the 2026 World Cup has driven the resale market to unprecedented levels. With three days to go before the Round of 16 match against England, some tickets available on the secondary market are already fetching as much as two million pesos—a figure that even exceeds the cost of several hospitality packages.

The match that Javier Aguirre’s team will play at the Estadio Ciudad de México has become one of the most sought-after of the tournament. High demand has caused prices to continue rising as the match date approaches.

On StubHub, a regulated resale platform that offers guarantees for both buyers and sellers, there are still about 500 tickets available for the match. However, securing a ticket already represents a significant expense.

The cheapest ticket listed as of Wednesday costs 90,000 Mexican pesos ($5,155). In sections 600 and 500, prices hover around 97,000 and 117,000 pesos, respectively, although within those same sections, there are listings with much higher prices.

The most striking example is in section 669, one of the highest sections at the Estadio Ciudad de México, where four tickets were listed for sale at two million pesos each. That amount even exceeds the prices of several Hospitality seats, considered among the most exclusive experiences of the World Cup.

In Zone 200, tickets start at 160,000 pesos, and their price increases as they get closer to the field. For seats in Zone 100, some tickets are already reaching 365,000 pesos, including fees.

Club Boxes are also among the most expensive options, with prices ranging from 400,000 to 450,000 pesos.

As for hospitality experiences, resale prices are also high, although in some cases they are lower than the most expensive listings on the traditional market. The Champions Club is priced between 201,000 and 266,000 pesos; the Trophy Lounge is listed at 243,000 pesos, while the FIFA Pavilion has tickets listed from 254,000 to 317,000 pesos.

With the anticipation surrounding the match between Mexico and England and as time goes on, the trend suggests that resale prices will continue to rise, driven by demand from fans looking for a place to watch one of the most anticipated matches of the Round of 16.
